United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Santorini Black
Pollution Sensor

This is probably a daft question, but I can't seem to find an answer.

After being quoted nearly £600 for a service and MOT by my local dealer, I'm going to take my car to an independent garage that I trust.

I want them to use genuine LR parts to preserve my warranty, so I looked online and saw that you can buy service kits with all the filters etc. However, there are kits for cars with and without a pollution sensor and I don't know what type mine is. I don't really know what to look for Rolling Eyes

It's a 2011 SD4 GS. Any ideas please?

I may be wrong but if you have a DPF (VIN doesn't have H in the middle), then you will have various sensors on the exhaust pipe. Not sure how often, if ever these need changing though.

The pollution sensor is normally fitted to the hi spec cars with the hi spec climate control. Its a sensor in the climate control airpath that detects pollution from outside and automatically adjusts the air intake flaps to re-circulate if required.
Just include the standard pollen filter with the other bits and forget about the sensor, I doubt you have the pollution sensor fitted and all it is within the kit is an additional HEPA filter to add with the pollen filter. My previous car was a SD4 GS and it did not have it fitted.

Presumably that is on the newer models as mine is a HSE and I don't think I have a pollution sensor?
