Spotlights again, sorry

Having discussed HID kits and 100w bulbs I think the best option is to fit spotlights

I am going to buy the Bushranger Night Hawk X-Bar. I am to start off with something thats not too expensive in case I hate the way they look.

Devon 4x4 sell Bushranger 160mm Night Hawk which look good for the price. The come in driving light and spot light flavour so was thinking about one of each. The driving light on the near side and the spot on the far side.

Can you think of reason this is not a good idea?

If you have additional driving lamps for use with main beam and don't upgrade dip you will find a big drop with vision when you have to dip for oncoming cars.
In all non HID Freelander 2's, current one is my 4th, its dip that is the problem.

2007- 2010 used 4x H7 2 dip and 2 main. Worked well with Nightbreaker or Halfords + 100%
2011 facelift till 2013 Projector type headlamp used 2x H7 and 2x H11. Diabolical on dip but worked well with upgraded bulbs as above.
2013 on uses single filament HB3 and dips with solenoid shutter. The best so far but improved with Halfords +110%
clear bulbs. This type has best dip spread and main beam.

I have Halfords Trade Card and get good discounts. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

That light bar relies upn the rigidity of the number plate mounting. I'm not sure I'd trust that not to wobble all over the place.

I am more interested in the idea of combining a driving light and spot light

The light bar will be fine as it will tie in with the structure behind the bumper

I can't see how it ties to the crossmember tbh. I must have missed something.

Just looked at that thread again. What he has done is added stiffening on the back of the bumber and is happy with the results. The lights he is using are very light
