help with connectors for rear lights

Need some help with connectors for rear lights please


There have been 3 types of rear light ?

1) clear bottom circle with red top circle --> 2011

2) clear bottom circle and clear top circle ---> 2012/3

3) LED - orange bottom circle/clear inner & red top circle clear inner ---- to date


Is type 1 to type 2 just a straight swap - ie connectors same type and plug and play ?
Can I use the 24 led bulbs in them if the bulbs have built in canbus ?


Know type 1 to type 3 isnt plug and play and involves chopping the connectors and soldering the wires etc Confused

unless someone has identified and sourced the correct M/F connectors to make it plug and play now Very Happy

Type 1 to type 2 are a straight swap as I have done this on mine.

On the subject of connectors...

I have just bought a set of MY13 LED rear lights for which I will need to obtain appropriate connectors. Does anyone know


    If the MY13 connectors are available as a Land Rover part / part number / supplier?

    If there is a socket corresponding to the existing pre MY13 connector plugs / part number or supplier?


Ideally I would like to make up a short connector (rather than cut the existing plugs off) so that the car can be restored to original when the time comes to trade it in.
