Thanks for the replies Guy's, rest assured they know my stance on this and I have already had compensation by means of the next service paid for, for the first round of issues. We were also given new Ewok as a loan car.

I wouldn't accept a free service, if they are so incompetent at prepairing a car for sale who's to say they will do the service correctly, I would only accept accessories as compensation. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

I bought the car from a LR Dealer a long way away from where I live so all the work is / has been done by a more local one |

Yep, but the hefty bill for the brake reline, new Disk, Pads all round and new rear Brake Shoes was covered by the dealer. as was the Loan Ewok, The fuel work was done under warranty.

Really surprised an LR dealer would sell a car that old let alone put a warranty on it lasting more than a month. Most would put it out in the trade. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

If you look on the LR website and use the approved used vehicle search tool you will see there are many older cars for sale.

My current 11 reg developed a gearbox problem after about 3 months where you got a grinding noise when going into 5th. I took it to the LR dealer and when I got it back I only drove about 200 yds and the problem was still there so I went straight back in and this time the service manager came out with me and agreed there was a problem. He called the next day to say he had booked it for the warranty approval engineer to see it and arranged a courtesy vehicle. I got my car back after 2 weeks having had the gearbox rebuilt by a specialist firm. It has been fine since.

Sounds a bit odd, I bought cars from LR dealers and took them back with various faults and they have sorted them out without ever asking for payment. I thought that they were able to spend a certain amount of time/money on a warranty job and after that it needed one of the LR inspectors to give the nod to carry on. Makes me wonder if they either forgot it was under warranty or kept your money and didn't register it for extended warranty work in the first place. |
