Well it had to happen sooner or later didn't it? Made it to 86k miles before the dreaded whine/ drone but its definitely there. Might be a wheel bearing but seems to emanate from the centre of the rear floor so Sods Law it will be the diff.

Any recommendations out there for a decent independent specialist to do the repair? Nearest LR dealer is Droiwich but I expect an uncompetitive price and for no better job tbh.

Any kind member suggest where to take it?

Not used them for a while as I have moved away and never had a diff go but Cross Motors bidford on Avon 01789 772089 have always done a great job on other vehicles of mine. Worth giving them a call. Ask for Luke.

A little out of your way but you could try Ashley4x4 up in Stafford. Had my last service done there as have a few of my colleagues and no complaints from any of us. Its located on a farm where he uses some of the outbuildings but totally equipped and capable workshop and mechanics there who specialize in our marque.

Pete looks after my FL2, you'll probably find that Listers at Droitwich might subcon your diff repair to Pete at AGF but charge you their price not his.
