Battery can't be to bad, he's started it and drove up the road quite easily with no assistance. |

Yes but having read other posts, which are battery related I thought this would be a good place to start especially as this is the cheapest/easiest to try first. |

UPDATE. I have just dealt with a firm in South Wales called countylocksmiths. They only cover South Wales though. Anyway, I have ordered a new fob from them which will be programmed to my vehicle. £220, but cheaper that Stratstone, who I hate giving my money too.

Maybe you could have held off on the Locksmiths order?

I did not know about the remote fob centre until I had placed an order with the locksmiths. I too would be a bit miffed if I had ordered a part for someone, but, they normally have spare fobs in their van, and were out of stock when I phoned them, so they are not going to be stuck with it.

At least there is a cheap way of having it repaired and you know it will work |

I recently had a fob fixed by a guy who fixes TV's, £25 works a treat. From his explanation, he took it apart and cleaned with contact cleaner. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)
