Why read the caravan section of this forum if you're not interested in caravaning? They are sections of the forum that I'm not interested in , thus I don't read them.

I've got a Sprite M6TD, 1540kg. Can't wait to try it with my brand spanker FL! Hopefully it'll be a dream!

As for Chicken shoot Georgie, why look at posts and post on them when all you can do is insult people? It says a lot for your character. A little immature minded perhaps. You also drive a tractor? I could talk about disgruntled, subsidised, farmers that think they're owed the world, but that'd be narrow minded. Grow up red neck

Just ignore comments you don't like rather than engage in a personal attack, if it becomes an issue the red triangle is there to report the matter and it can be addressed Thumbs Up

Shocked merry xmas and a miserable new year you old grump.

We all share the roads but you lot are expecting to tow bigger and bigger caravans without some backlash, they really really do annoy a lot of motorists At work

The problem with caravans is exactly the same with tractors and trailers, you can't see over them to see a clear road, the biggest problem I find is the 40mph'er who then decides that 40mph is too fast on a 1mile radius corner and slows down. I generally find when towing the van is that the vehicle that causes most problems is the Motor Home, they are more ungainly than anything on the road and seem unable to keep up with the trafic flow unless on the continent, even then the Brits are still the slowest. Unless the corner is very tight you will find the van will corner at most legal speeds so no need to slow down. The old adage applies, if you can't keep up to the legal limit you shouldn't be on the road, car. van. MH or bloddy tractor Very Happy Very Happy my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Actually the main problem is people who dont overtake for one reason or another. I hate driving a tractor with cars behind, you have to drive right into the verge where its bumpy and you never know when some wideboy is going to attempt a crazy triple overtake etc
Because of this I frequently allow people past (local roads so probably people I know anyway, or ones who will moan about the hold up next time I see them)

this bits true -of all the times caravans have held me up I dont ever remember one making a courtesy pull over to let traffic by, why not?

Also true I once saw a mate behind my tractor and trailer so purposely swerved for a mile or two holding him up. I saw him a few weeks later, he had sold his distinctive alfa several weeks before Embarassed At work

Your right CH I never pull in to let traffic pass me when I'm towing my caravan, because I'm not the slowest guy on the road. I generally have a couple of solo cars in front of me holding me up. I keep a healthy breaking distance between me and the car in front, then you get some arse that assume's (you know what they say about assuming)I'm the slow guy and they try and pass only to realise that they can't as I have now pulled up closer to the guy in front.
I have never seen a tractor being held up by slower traffic. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Agree with that, My outfit is more than capable of keeping up with (and exceeding the speed limit) and its not often that I can be accused of holding anyone up.

A lot of the time, people are following to close, they cannot see what's up front because they are to close, if they hung back a bit, they would see better and see if any traffic was coming enabling them to overtake if clear, also as they are following so close, it means the traffic behind needs a bigger gap in oncoming traffic to enable them to pass as they need to pass three or four if not more vehicles in one go.
Or you get the clever so and so's, who just don't want to pass, but see someone trying to pass and they close the gap up not allowing them to get in front of them.
