Loose bonnet latch

Noticed today that the bonnet latch passenger side is loose! The light was badly fading but could not see how the dealers will repair this ...

Not very often, it has to be said! And my latches are fine, not loose.

Has there been a design change for later models? On my car both latches are identical and comprise the U part which is attached (there's a single nut on the rear leg of the U, but whether that's the only attachment I'm not sure) to a plate which is then itself attached (spot welded?) to the bonnet frame. The whole thing is rigid, with no give at all.
