I don't know if this has been covered before but what is the best way to remove tar from the body work?? I've got some Astonish tar and bug remover and it doesn't seem to work. Today I've seen a tar removal sponge, are these any better??

White spirit has always worked for me. Some on a cotton cloth but do not rub, wipe over area and return after about 5-10 minutes and you will clearly see the tar bleeding then just wipe over with same cloth. MY13- TD4 XS Mauritius Blue, Privacy glass, Cold climate pack, Tailgate spoiler, Armrest pack, LED signature, Body side mouldings, Full size spare and finally Mudflaps

I can understand tar spots getting on the car during the summer when the roads are warm but I bought my Freelander last November in showroom condition and now its covered in the bloody stuff! |

Surface dressing! Tar sports and stone chips. Thank you council. Try thinking of a more constructive way to use up you transport budget. Rant over. I feel for anyone with a white car, its a never ending job. |
