2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Orkney Grey
Iphone 6 - USB Connection

I have the Meridian system in my 2013MY Freelander and I always connect the iPhone 6 via USB.

The "Browse" option sometimes works and lets me choose music by album but most of the time I press this and nothing happens.

I can play music via Bluetooth but then I have to use the phone to select the album, as you dont get the Browse button anyway.

Does anyone else have this issue or has my car got a fault.

Thanks

Phil

Streaming over Bluetooth only allows track changes by steering wheel, no access to playlists etc unfortunately. For full integration and functionality, you need a cable connection. Foraging near Gaydon....

Thanks Badger - thats my problem I sometimes cant control my phone from the screen even when connected via the cable.

Not sure what it is - it was working this morning but not last night.

I should just except that it is a Landrover at the end of the day Wink

Have a look at how your music is set up and stored on your iPhone. Since everything is now in the "cloud", each individual track now appears to have to be downloaded. It causes havoc with any folders and playlists as well.

I reverted to the "old" iPod style, and went back to using it as a hard drive, downloading and storing everything onto the device itself. That way, there's been no delay/lag/risk of not being in a 3G area when in the move, so no further problems.

Sometimes, I wish Apple et al would just leave the bloody things alone, because it's not progress IMHO - just more hindrance. Foraging near Gaydon....

Ive had a similar problem and posted a separate thread - its definitely an iOS issue.

Just downloaded 8.1.1 and hoping its fixed it.

Slightly highjacking an old thread but I found one that was slightly related to my annoyance when connecting iPhone 6 via USB in that the Censored thing autoplays as soon as I connect and I can't find a setting in either the Meridian Setup or the iPhone that prevents this. Any suggestions much appreciated!
