Maybe I don't drive fast enough, or listen to my radio too loud, but I haven't noticed any excessive wind noise due to the roof rails? (I installed factory roof rails and factory cross bars last weekend). |

Hi wjb, Thank you for this response. I had the dealer install the set, however when traveling over 55 mph the wind noise from directly above the cabin is totally obtrusive (you'd notice). Curious if my installation job was faulty? 2008 LR2 SE - Baltic Blue. Roof Rails and Cold Climate Pkg. |

Hi npinks, Are you sure the rails are different? I thought there were two versions of the permanent cross bar (one for sunroofs and one for a hard roof), but thought the actual rails were the same. Are you sure the rails are different as well? Many thanks! 2008 LR2 SE - Baltic Blue. Roof Rails and Cold Climate Pkg. |

it is just the rear cross bar thats different, not the front to rear rails,

Cheers npinks. Thanks for the additional response. I've got the cross bar with the solid rubber underneath, and from what I can gather the hard roof version has a segmented rubber piece on the underside of the crossbar. I think I have the correct version which may simply mean that the noise will not go away . I may add a fairing system....curious if anyone else has pursued this solution? 2008 LR2 SE - Baltic Blue. All I can think of is that if the noise is coming from the rails, and not the cross bars, it may be due to improper mounting of the rails.
