Curious if anyone has added a fairing system to their roof rails? The noise is an issue with the factory rails, and am interested if either the Yakima or Thule Fairings help with the noise and what system was used for installation? Also, would love to see a picture.

Maybe I don't drive fast enough, or listen to my radio too loud, but I haven't noticed any excessive wind noise due to the roof rails? (I installed factory roof rails and factory cross bars last weekend).

might be the bars themselves

Are you sure they gave you the right roof rails, as there is two set, one for sunroofs, and ones for without sunroofs

it is just the rear cross bar thats different, not the front to rear rails,

Cheers npinks. Thanks for the additional response. I've got the cross bar with the solid rubber underneath, and from what I can gather the hard roof version has a segmented rubber piece on the underside of the crossbar. I think I have the correct version which may simply mean that the noise will not go away . I may add a fairing system....curious if anyone else has pursued this solution? 2008 LR2 SE - Baltic Blue. Roof Rails and Cold Climate Pkg.

All I can think of is that if the noise is coming from the rails, and not the cross bars, it may be due to improper mounting of the rails.

The instructions call for drilling out six 24mm holes (or approx 1") in the plastic trim that covers the rain gutters. At first glance, the washer used for the four rear holes appears to mount cleanly into the holes where the plastic plug was located --without the need for drilling (I followed the instructions and drilled them out anyway figuring I only want to do this once). Perhaps the dealer skipped that step? I would suspect even a small gap could cause wind noise. Just a thought.
