go clear out your flaps !

When filling up the washet bottle I noticed some leaves sticking out at the end of the scuttle panel.
There's a rubber flap there and when I lifted and then dislodged it I pulled out a whole lot of debris.
This is stuff that falls from the windscreen onto the scuttle panel and finds it's way along to each end where there's this rubber flap, this then acts like a damn and holds all the debris there.
It's not going to cause any problems, but as they say "better out than in"
So, go check it out, one on each side.

I checked mine regularly though winter, always soggy leaves, seed casings, twigs and crap down there. Luckily I have long fingers Laughing

When my front bumper came off the other week at the body shop, they found a birds nest filled with dead wasps on the bumper bar behind the grill. Nothing live in there but it must have been parked up a while prior to my ownership.

Laughing

Had a similar thing on mine with spiders.

With the very low mileage put on my FL2 by the previous owner, I had spiders everywhere - inside and out.
Took a few months to finally get them all moved on.

let me guess..behind wing mirrors, A pillars, Air vents Laughing

mine had 48k when I got it last August at 6yr 1mth old (the FL, not me!)

the birds nest points to it being parked up for a while, although their is nothing in the history to suggest this, which would explain the low mileage.

Quite often I had a Huntsman living somewhere in the car. Many years ago while my arms were stuck into the engine bay, a huntsman almost as large as my hand crawled up on top of the radiator & looked me square in the face.

A long time ago my boss while driving to work bushed his hair back into place (comb over) with his hand. Returning his hand on the steering wheel. Large Huntsman sitting on his hand. He said he didn't know how he avoided pranging the car.

The Huntsman is a great spider, but I do try to get them outside, if you can catch them! http://australianmuseum.net.au/huntsman-spiders - see 'Habitat' second paragraph. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The words "great" and "spider" do bot go together. Unless "big fecking" goes in between. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

My old series 2 lived under a lime tree, so was always covered in sticky goo, which attracted ants...
which attracted spiders. They lived in the headlining and would let themselves down randomly in front of the windows on a journey. I thought they were rather sweet, but my sentiments were not always shared.
A friend of mine bought a Rover 90 and after a while discovered a nest of field mice living in the passenger seat squab.
I feel that a Land Rover, being a country vehicle, should be a haven for wild life. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I chopped up a tree from my garden and put it in the back of my FL2 to take to the tip. After I took it all out I realised how many spiders I had made homeless when I saw all the new webs forming in the car. I never deliberately took them out so they either all starved in solidarity or there is one mean spider left in my car... FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
