You have the passenger footwell fuse box, does it mean this?

From this it sounds like it is the rear load space fuse box;

13pin towing electrics on 58plate fl2

Hi all..... Put on towbar and new genuine 13pin electrics..... Put in the 2 15a and 40a fuses..... Thought I'd just put on caravan to see if indeed they do need turning on by dealer???

Fl2 engine off..... Connected caravan, caravan side light on off side came on, no others and fl2 won't start

Fl2 engine running, then connected caravan, dash lights on instrument cluster went out, side light on caravan came on and reverse light

Is this because they properly need turning on??

Thx tt Tony....... tt's little tiger http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic20905.html

It probably does need 'programming'. I think true plug and play only appeared on later model years...

Needs to be reprogrammed by a Dealer or someone with a compatible device.

Is that why the lights are all over the place?? Just assumed that they wouldn't work or do anything till programmed??

Probably best not to start scotch locking into other circuits... The dedicated wiring set enables the trailer lamp on the dash board, modifies the gearbox programming for towing and disables reversing sensors / fog lights.

Is your are all the wires correct in the 13 pin (or 7n / 7s) socket/s? Is your caravan / trailer plug wired correctly? Could you connect somebody else's caravan / trailer to your car & your caravan/trailer to their car?

If nothing is connected to the car is everything on the car working as it should?
