Storm

Well... Goodness me.
I write this on a dodgy internet connection- 3Gish!
Eva and I are stranded on a farm after the most frightening experience of our little lives!
I was on my way to deliver some drugs to a poorly dog on a remote farm when the weather changed. I was the only vehicle out on the road. The snowflakes were so huge and sticky. Visibility was zero. I couldn't tell where the sky stopped and the road began. I missed the drive for the farm but did manage to get turned round.
I was so relieved to see the lights on at the farmhouse.
My lovely lovely clients/friends told me to stay for tea... TBH I was relieved. Usually these heavy showers pass so quickly!?
Well this one didn't and the drive blew in with snow... 3ft deep.
So... I'm fed and watered and have been out sledging with the family and now tucked up in a gorgeous b&b room!
So glad not to be on call tonight!!
Going to be some digging in the morning!
Over and out
MM
Deep in the North Pennines!!

Wow, what fun we've had.
Whatever you drive whether it be FL2/Evoque we are so lucky. Our cars perform incredibly well when challenged. I made it out of the drive after it was dug out... I say dug out loosely as by the time I was ready to leave it had blown back in again... but the five foot drift across the end of the drive had diminished.
I could hear snow scraping along the underneath all the way along. Left it in HDC and GGS. just let the car do its thing.
I'm thoroughly impressed. Also having been unimpressed with the pirelli scorpion verdes last year when we didnt have much of a challenge, I can say that these tyres performed well for me. I'm too skint to buy winter tyres right now so I'm pretty happy...
Weather forecast is not for any further snow, so I guess Ice is going to be our next problem...
Safe motoring!

County Durham has really taken a battering.
So many stuck cars/people out of control...
I've done lots of snow driving, in the dark etc... However, I have never experienced anything as disorientating as last night.
I was frightened.
I am incredibly pleased though with Eva's performance!!
Although I don't think we'll have any snow in the next 48hours. It will be interesting to see what happens Saturday/Tuesday as more snow forecast...
Stay safe everyone!!

Glad to hear all ended well MM. Only a light dusting of snow on Sussex/Surrey/Kent borders and nothing on the coast. Happy with that.
