Aha yes indeed, that’s completely different and one, actually the main reason when the F-Pace came out we had an early test drive and dismissed it completely, the same like sitting in a sports car rather than a 4X4.

Funny you should say that when I went up to JLR to pick up my DiL’s Discovery (new model) recently even with that model getting in and out the A Pillar was noticeably closer (and a headbanger if not careful) compared to our FFRR we had at the time, even the FL2 we have now is so much easier regarding ingress/egress. Regards David Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me...... Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again...... |

You seem to get into the car level with your pelvice rather than climbing up into the Freelander. The only way to find out is to actually measure seat to ground with a plank and measuring stick. When I have the opportunity to do this I will post the result. |

Indeed you need to measure the H (hip) Point not the front of the squab, we had a special “pole” that sat across both seats at the H Point and was adjustable to compensate for the side bolsters if too prominent to compare competitor vehicles in tear down operations, all good fun. Regards

Interesting video. Lots of real improvements, although the huge front overhang and terrible approach angle are most un LR like and the adoption of a BMW-alike gear lever is a real shame |

Real improvements at a real premium as well! Just tried to build the equivalent to my brothers HSE Lux, and as you can only get an HSE now, and have to separately add all the HSE Lux bits, it has come in at a whopping £57k like for like! That's D5 money almost....what ARE they playing at....

£53k for my spec an HSE D240, granted I’ve added a few things that I didn’t have previously on my DS but have them on the Velar.

Just tried to build new DS to roughly the same spec as my Metro and I easily exceeded £50k.

The adaptive dampers are a must on the DS IMO. As I’ve said the ride was one of my gripes with it.
