I asked the question about the seatbelt at Halewood, the instructor turned round and looked puzzled when he saw there was no adjustment Laughing

Lots on the road around these parts now, I suspect a lot of lease cars perhaps?

Australia 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Aintree Green

Finally the dealers have got first stock of DS here which I had a look at today!
My first impressions other than the "mule" that's was doing dealer showroom rounds earlier in the year! - impressive!
Looks extremely well built, fit and finish A1. I'm really pleased to say its a quality product, even though all models atm are high end versions, even the SE was fully optioned, not a cloth seat in sight or manual (no offence!). So well done LR! I can see they will sell a few of these!
BUT!
My personal view or dislikes - feels "nice"!!!! By this I mean it's going to appeal to far more of a bland cross section of the market. It felt rather "safe" in all aspect, gone is any "points of difference" with making it stand out as a Land Rover. Really didn't like car like driving position and when I got into my Freelander you could really feel the higher driving position with I love. DS just feels low in comparison. Another thing which is purely personally is that unless you option 20" rims the DS looks really weird! The Ekoke'esk styling really doesn't work unless you have all the bits on it.
But otherwise a very nice effort! Personally it's far to domestic and "family" for me so hopefully in the distant future something else comes from the LR stable to entice me away from my Freelander 2 which atm would have to be bloody good!
Just my honest opinion, we should be all proud that Land Rover has produced a good product Thumbs Up MY15

I'm the opposite, not keen on the look of the 20" wheels.

I will keep this one a couple of years and see what's about then. There is a few things LR need to change before I order another. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Not big issues, but areas where LR could've put a bit more effort in.

My main one, is the lack of seat belt height adjustment, Incontrol Touch could be a bit more simpler, the navtech sat nav needs to be ditched in favour of a better system.

It isn't a bad car but there is room for improvement over the coming model years. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Left early for work this morning and took the DS for a little play in the rough, nothing extreme but enough to catch the DS out. I was quite surprised at how comfortable it was going over some of the large ruts, the photos don't do it justice but the incline was quite steep, it did cause a bit of concern with the DS not having the best approach angles but it was fine.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Nice pickies J77 -I do like the colour. My main objection to the DS as an off roader is that rear suspension - those trailing arms will catch and drag on every bit of rock they can find - I don't see why it was worth compromising a vital inch or two of clearance there to end up with road handling characteristics which are still not quite as good as the usual soft roader competition.

I suspect the revised rear suspension has more to do with making room in the cabin for the third row of seats than it does with the handling.

Exactly right! The fact that you don't have the intrusion of the strut towers into the load area makes a huge difference in the DS even though not really bigger than FL2. MY15

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Orkney Grey

Finally seen and felt one - Stratstones had a few on there forecourt and I must say I have mixed feelings. The colour makes a huge amount of difference as does the tinted glass (don't like it) which gives the car an elongated look, sort of out of balance. That being said the price drop for the 150hp 5 seater is to be welcomed.

Whilst touring about I called in to a Subaru dealership and was very impressed with the new Outback. Has all sorts of goodies on the premium model for about the same price as the basic DS (including their version of a terrain response system on the lineatronic model). It also felt well screwed together. Am test driving both the DS and the Subi next week. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
