Unable to get any P21 gel to clean my wheels, and after having watched my previous cars wheels slowly disintegrate after using nano tech wheel cleaner, I thought I would try something called Car Plan Eco wheel cleaner.

I wouldn't bother if I were you.

No wonder it's eco friendly and bio degradable, it doesn't seems to take off any wheel crud at all!

Now where do I get that P21 stuff?

I've heard that the wheel cleaner from Porsche is the same as P21 and cheaper . . .

I have just started using Nano Tech wheel cleaner works well but I dont want to ruin my wheels  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

I used it on average once every two to four weeks or so on my alloys for 5 years.

They slowly started to bubble under the alloy and black corrosion started to form which I just couldn't shift (the only way would be to get a wheel refurb I suppose).

I assumed it was because they salt the roads a lot up here (quite often snowing/icy etc) but then I read on here that Nano Tech contains sulphuric acid. That would explain it then!

I agree the stuff does work well but obviously is a bit too strong if you use it regularly.

Snappa have you tried "Muc-Off" it's a special cleaner for mountain bikes but it seems to be pretty good for stubborn stuff on cars too. It's available from Halfords and good bike shops in a 1 litre refillable triggerpack

Muc-Off does contain the dreaded Nano Tech though...................... How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Yeah I actually used to use muc off on me mountain bike.
Excellent degreaser, and good for cleaning oil off carpets too....

Oxidised, is probably the word you were searching for.

Aluminium and most of its alloys are highly resistant to most forms of corrosion. The metal's natural coating of aluminium oxide provides a highly effective barrier to the ravages of air, temperature, moisture and chemical attack
