Sorry to hear that Lurcher. Having slipped on ice and sustained bruising over the years, I invested in these a couple of years ago: http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4...60K%7B%7BQ

They fit to my work shoes or my big winter boots no problem and laugh at all icy situations, including very icy steps on a footpath where I take the dogs.

Many people I have mentioned them to at work have said "Just as if I am paying that much just for a few snowy or icy days"

£20 vs broken ankle etc.
£20 vs cheaper versions with spikes that don't last as long or perform as well

£20 for these is a sound investment Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I know it may sound silly to some but the ambulance were considering the Mountain Rescue to fetch her down the garden Very Happy , she decided to come down from the top on her bum and hands with her leg (splinted) supported by one of us .
Inappropriate footwear I have to say .

Well this is all the calm before the storm according to Madden and the Express, who are now forecasting 5 months of winter ahead, the worst for 200 years now. Laughing They must have some kind of Front Page Censored Take sweep stake going on over there.

He wants shooting. The Express know it is utter crap but it sells papers and money rules Rolling Eyes

Mild and unsettled will be the main theme until at least mid January. There is the potential for a sudden stratospheric warming around mid month which usually takes 2-3 weeks to propagate down into the lower atmosphere and encourage northern blocking. Then it just depends if we end up on the cold side or mild side of any blocking.

An SSW was behind the cold March of 2013. The SSW basically destroys the polar vortex and warms up the atmosphere over the pole (relatively speaking). LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
