re downsizing from RRS guys, are they really that expensive to run ?

wouldn't mind one, but good to get some unbiased feedback from the horses mouth, as it were.

I was on the brink of up sizing a few months ago, had a deposit on one in fact, 16k miles on the clock.
Regarding the costs, with my mileage of around 25k a year, fuel costs would increase by around £600, tax is £425, insurance was the same. The car came with two year warranty too which would have stood me in good stead.

Now I'm all sad again Big Cry

Ian , really depends on daily mileage i could drop to 19 mpg in winter due to short trips but also get around 29-30 on long runs, a fair combined would be 23-26 mpg during the summer, but i must admit once driven you were hooked, i had Brembo brake upgrade and engine re-map so was very nice to drive and as long as you had a good indipendant garage close to you, serviceing about £300, tyres £150ish each. reason i downsized is really down to job insequrity and RRS needed some money spent on it so needed a cheaper to run tow car.

P.S still not sure i`ve done the right move Embarassed 200 Tdi Disco ( Gone )

You won't be disappointed Tony, the Freelander 2 is a great car, and far more capable than people think. Only my opinion, but I think it's one of the best you can get for if it snows.

Ian,
I have the TDV8 3.6. Tax £500, insurance about £50 more than my Sd4 FL2. I'm averaging 27mpg but haven't gone through a winter yet. Servicing about £200+ more than FL2. I wouldn't consider one without a warranty, when things go wrong it's very very expensive.
It is fantastic to drive with awesome power for a car that's near on 3 ton, having said that, I never had any complaints from the two FL2's I had.

Looks good, could do with a boot liner this time of year with 2 spaniels enjoying the mud today. Where did you purchase it from?
