Thanks for the reply, I have been through the search results and can't find reference to anyone using discs later than 2012.

From MY13 it is still the Navteq software but for HDD versions only, at the bargain price of £171 on a USB Stick, for the newer car drivers prior to that, for the older car drivers its the DVD still at the bargain price of £171, all direct from Navteq, but you could use the £171 to buy a TomTom with and have updates for life.

I know this is going to sound stupid.......but if I were to buy the updated disc from Navteq (for £171), what exactly do I do with it to update? (Only recently bought a FL2 with satnav (previous one didn't have) so please forgive my ignorance!) 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

Yours had the Reader under the drivers seat, remove the old disc, put in the new one, with the ignition on it will start to load the new Disc. After about 15 minutes maybe less the low Battery warning will come on, I've always found it best to load the Disc with the engine running because of the Low Battery warning, loading can take from a few minutes to an hour, seems to be no reason why some load quick others don't. |

Yes, you can revert back to your old discs if you sell it and move the newer ones on, obviously if you put your old disc back in the new maps won be there. But if you put the new one back in it will work instantly, no loading to be done. |

£171 That's why I was looking for Volvo discs, as the software is the same - apparently... And they are much cheaper.

The two different types are not compatible, from MY13 the Sat Nav is on a Hard Drive and updated via USB, where as yours DVD. |

from my experience on navteq updates, there's always roads missing even when they have been built a year or more before Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |
