Air Con Condensation Drain

With reference to my post on smelly air con, I still have not had any drip from the air con evaporator pipe on to the tarmac.

Can members tell me if their air con drips and how much.

Still have smell from the air con on switch on and I am wondering if the pipe is blocked!

I would appreciate a response from as many members as possible.

Many thanks Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto with Winter Pack, Stornaway Grey, Ebony, Grey Mirror Caps. Removable towbar with 13 pin Electrics

The humidity in the air is pretty low at the moment so don't expect loads of condensation/drips. Also its not that warm yet so the aircon wont be working at max. At work

If a pipe is blocked than you will also have an abnormal noise due to the reduced airflow crosssection, different airflow between the air vents at the same settings and the pipe would most likely break very fast due to the overwelming liquide pressue (which is much bigger than the gas as liquide cannot be commpressed) and you woud surely notice lots of drippings everywhere. The air cond system will loose coolant or will not be able to work normally (depending on which pipe breaks) so that even at low temp the auto setting will use full fan settings.
This is what I think. Might be wrong.
The smell on the other habd is not normal and should belooked in.
If not for the smell I would not worry. Thumbs Up FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

Hi Matei, The pipe I am refering to is only the drain pipe from the evaporator which drips excess water build up off the evaporator fins.

probably doesn't happen in your part of the world as you have a very dry atmosphere.

I am just trying to find out how often other freelander 2 users see water drips under the vehicle.

I gather Chicken George has no drip at present?

How about anybody else? Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto with Winter Pack, Stornaway Grey, Ebony, Grey Mirror Caps. Removable towbar with 13 pin Electrics

PJW, this is hardly a scientific response, but I have noticed water from said drain a number of times over the last couple of weeks. There were a number of days the outside temp was showing around 25, and I'd have the aircon set at 18/19. After running the car for say half an hour, then standing for 15 minutes or so there would be a puddle/damp patch about 100mm across, seems to drop from around the bulkhead area.

update:- Just test drove with the caravan on the back and guess what happened when I parked up ------ Water dripping from the evaporator drain pipe.

Don't ask me why it has taken nearly four weeks for this to happen perhaps it likes towing!!

Anyway panic over, perhaps the fishy smell from the aircon will not be noticable now it has had a flush out.

Thanks to all for the feed back. Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto with Winter Pack, Stornaway Grey, Ebony, Grey Mirror Caps. Removable towbar with 13 pin Electrics

I saw some driping today just behind the right front wheel and I asume that it's the AC drain.
When you say "there would be a puddle/damp patch about 100mm across, seems to drop from around the bulkhead area." was it abt there ? FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER
