Richard - to answer your question, no, it is not normal. Without seeing your installation it is difficult to give any recommendation apart from seeking out a motor electrician who should be able to identify the problem. My car has a LR fitted twin socket loom which I have converted to 13 pin. I can sort some pics if that helps.

Richard - I would guess your trailer wiring is not LR in that case.

It should still be possible to have use the space in the rear fuse box to enable the Fridge etc, my first one was done like that without genuine electrics and worked fine.

Not sure what you are referring to there Andy. Is that not just the standard wiring kit instructions? 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)
