For me the car has to have a good diesel, TR would be great as would a low box, the wife will want leather and sat nav. It must have better ground clearance that the existing one. Finally it must have a bigger boot; space has always been the Achilles heel of Freelander. |

Leather seats, less rigid plastic, a good engine, fold flat back seats for bigger cargo, heated seats. |

Current FL has leather and heated seats std on the HSE, I think. The wife has the SE, which has leather/alcantara but they are heated. Prerequisite for her; she always has them on with a view to burning away the excess fat. 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE

The one thing it can do without is the bang your head on the door frame as you get in feature! The SE is the leather and Alcan do da stuff seats and blooming hot they get too as they stay on full blast the whole time. My wife likes that feature best, but she doesn't have any fat to burn away |

Yeah, the FL heated seats get stupidly hot. Moreso than on the RRS. I can't keep them on for long... I also have less fat to burn off. I think everybody has less fat to burn off actually. 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE

A diesel automatic from first off would be nice................. the TD4 Auto was the best Freelander of the current range, especially if you wanted to go offroad as the manuals tended to cook their clutch (£1000 to repair!) too easily. Top spec models with TR and full air suspension too but that would make it too expensive and versatile. |
