DVD in motion

Right folks wondering if anyone can help me out Whistle

I am wanting to enable the DVD whilst the car is in motion has anyone had any joy? Once the vehicle speed goes above 5mph then the screen goes blank but the audio is still heard! It would also be fabulous to have digital tv has anyone else tried this on the factory meridian head unit ... The main use will be when the cars on private land MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

it is made like that for safety reasons.Have to wonder why one would even want to watch a DVD instead of paying attention to where one was going
Also I doubt very much even if legal no insurance company would cover you.
If you want to watch a DVD you can get those that fit in the front head rests so when someone else is driving so you can watch a DVD in safety.

My strongest advice is don't even attempt to do what your thinking doing it is plain stupid. I don't think any member would even want to help you out Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

I'm looking into this feature too, I would like to fix this restriction to view a rear camera whilst in motion for recording purposes etc. there is usually a company that does a module that sits between screen and speedo signal.

My main use for this feature is for when roaming around in private land (which I clearly stated in my initial post) "ie our family farm" but I have edited/removed my post! Cheers Carman Thumbs Up yes I'm aware of this company looks like it will be my best bet MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I read the original post last night and the reply

Just because someone preached the rights and wrongs about it, on public roads, doesn't mean you can't stand your ground and keep the question there Exclamation

Thanks Thumbs Up I just did not want to be seen to be promoting illegal activities and get similar reply "why do this it's illegal" so being very tired after a busy day I assumed at the time that it would be the best thing to remove my post! If you were happy with my initial post I will gladly repost Wink I'm sure they're are others on here who would like to have the DVD in motion when on private farm land. It would also be handy for myself when, I have my nephew as he can watch something and I can get on with my work when roaming around at our family farm

Thanks pal Very Happy

I would want it enabling too if it was straight forward thing to do, amount of times I have been stuck in a traffic jam and a movie or bit of TV would have been good to while away the time, but as we know it blanks out when in gear or something

I'm sure it's a valid point about it distracting at speed but common sense has to prevail about it's use Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I do have to wonder how much members think about safety and what they want to do while driving a vehicle.

The biggest cause of accidents is inattention and any addition to distract MUST be frowned on. It is not the person watching the DVD/TV while driving that worries me it is the innocent people they might hit or even kill.

If they get seriously injured then tough luck it is their own fault. The replies on here really have me concerned about what members consider as safe while driving a car. Maybe they have not been involved in a bad accident, if they had been they would think twice about what was the cause
Having held a licence for more than 50 years I have seen some really bad ones (including the demise of persons) which is why I strongly made my concerns clear Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner
