My FL2 keeps misting up

I have had a 10 reg FL2 for a couple of months and noticed that it keeps misting up inside. The air con is blowing out cold air OK. I have another 08 reg FL2 in the family so we are familiar with the controls. Any suggestions?, How can I tell if recirculation is stuck on for instance?

in the front foot wells, this could be due to a dislodged aircon drain pipe Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Cars in general can do that when the in side is moist - ie a leak.

Just checked carpets on both side, no sign of dampness, where is the aircon drain pipe?

No just had a look, pipe is in position and no sign of dampness around it. I was thinking that I once had a similar steaming up problem on a car years ago and after a couple of hours driving discovered that the ventilation was set to recirculate. I am wondering if the ventilation is somehow stuck in this position. How could I test this?

when i clean my windows, my air circulation switches to internal circulation to prevent the smell of washer fluid coming in the cabin

How about try the easy trial first.
Go out on a decent long run, set to max heat on recirc. When you get boiled open all 4 windows to let the air out then close the windows and repeat this multiple times.
.
It is a scientific fact that hot air will hold more water than cold air so by this 'overheating' you will draw the moisture out of the cars interior and dispose of it outside.
.
Once you have done this 'drying out' you can wait and see if it reappears.
.
If it comes back then go hunting for a water leak!
.
You mentioned that you've only had it 2 months, it may have been left damp by the previous owner, the other is that some car sales prep outfits pressure wash interiors, (yes believe me I've seen cars at a local sales fourcourt with 100mm of water in the footwells as their method of intensive valeting).
.

I was about to say this very thing. I would be confident in saying that the pollen filter is crapped up. Change this and you should see a major improvement. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
