I think I found it. Footwell was wet so checked the AC drain. I squeezed the tube a couple of times and I got a bit of a flood under the car. Though I haven't tested it while driving, I think the smell is gone.

Re Zone30's reply, precisely where is the drain pipe to be found that needs a squeeze to clear its drain outlet. I might as well do a 2 minute service and squeeze mine as well.
.
Please can somebody add a photo?

It's actually quite simple: there's a panel on each side of the mid tunnel in the footwells. Only one (crappy) screw near the front to undo (right side on my LHD, but presume it's the same an a RHD). Pull it out, you'll find a very flexible tube. Squeeze it a couple of times, the pressure cleared the channel for me resulting in water pouring from the bottom of the car. Fix pannel back. Done.

Yes that's the one. No need to disconnect, just squeeze it z couple of times.

Same thing happened to my 08 today. Noticed fine mist coming out of the air vents.
Removed the drivers side panel and gave the flexible rubber pipe a few squeezes and out came a load of water underneath the car.
All is well now Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
