I have been watching out of interest what has been happening with these quad copters with a camera in the USA. before getting one I would suggest you contact the Aviation Authority about flying low model craft of this type. Then there is the risk of being taken to court for invasion of privacy. You may find you come under the flying commercial aircraft if you what to do aerial photography for profit or as a business and need a licence.

I thought you were in the UK but now see you ARE in the USA sorry, but even so, where ever you plan to use it the law remains and the privacy aspect even on a campsite will still apply Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner |

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a locally-sold (Craigslist) AR.Drone v2. It's a solid little machine that can take a beating (including being grabbed and given a good shake by a 75lb Rhodesian/Lab mix).
