Factory fitted Towing Electrics FL2 2008

Hi,

Just purchased a FR2 2008/58 GS Model with 12s / 12n electrics already fitted, Land Rover genuine...

Are the control boxes the same for the Twin 7pin and the single 13pin ? as I want to re-wire it for the Euro 13 Pin without changing anything else.

Thanks in advance.

Richard

I changed mine. I chopped the twin loom in the l/h boot area before it goes out through the boot floor. (cut it "long", you can always shorten it later if needed) I then connected a 13 pin cable with 2 x chocolate blocks, fed through the original hole to the new 13 pin socket. Job's a good-un! Thumbs Up
NB: disconnect the battery first Wink 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Barolo Black

hi, im new to this so treat me kindly. i have a 2008 td4 hse with single towing electrics and i want to put secondary electrics whats the best way, buy a complete kit? The towbar electrics look have been spliced into the rear light loom and i can't see the trailer control module there is no fuse in the trailer fuse holder under the boot floor. Is there another way of just adding the secondary with hacking around the loom?
thanks Thumbs Up

In your situation, and as you have a manual gearbox, and therefore not need the auto box towing features, I would find a local independent auto electrician and get him to wire it for you. It should only be about an hours work at most, plus parts.
