fl2 td4 hst

hi all, just after some info.

Today i test drove a 2008 fl2 td4 hst. when i pulled out of the garage it seemed really slow and impossible to get going for the first couple of minutes. After that it was really lovely to drive and accelerated really well.

i spoke to the salesman and he said it was normal with discoverys and probably the same with fl2 as it was to protect the engine as it was warming up or something along them lines.

this would be my first freelander so i'm totally clueless.

any advice would be appreciated.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

It is not normal for the TD4 and unlikely to be normal for discos. Sounds like a load of BS. Find another car or dealer.

Must admit I pull out of a side street and turn right into a busy main road evey time I leave the house, and first thing in the morning you have to spot a gap that's at least three times longer than the gap I would go for later in the day.

normally she pulls out like a scalded cat (OK a two ton scalded cat with a diesel engine), just sometimes at the first junction she doesn't want to play, and no-one wants to gamble with thier pride and joy. So I awlays treat the first junction of the day with caution. Second junction (traffic lights) is less than a mile away, and she has never hesitated at this junction, and trust me by this junction the engine and gearbox are still cold.

It feels as if she is setting off in second, foot planted firmly into carpet, but she doesn't rev, just pulls out slower than normal, no fuss, no suggestion of misfire, similar to leaving her in snow mode.

It's not a problem, it's a LR they are individuals, mine doesn't like mornings, she starts easily, just doesn't want to go to work. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
