Belgium 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi All,

I just registered and want to say hello to all members ! I bought a Freelander diesel with automatic gearbox just ten days ago. It is almost a HSE type which means it is a HE with lots of options.

So this will be my first Land Rover. In January during the Brussels motorshow I got the opportunity to enjoy a 10 minutes presentation on the passenger seat on a small artificial off road track.
Really convincing ! Later I could make a long test drive on the road and even off road myself. This convinced me even more and the consequence is that I'm waiting now for many many months until I get a promissing phone call from my dealer... Banging Head

yes I did: 6 % - which is not unusual in Belgium but seems quite a lot compared with what apparently you guys get in the U.K.

United Kingdom 2007 LR2 TD4 GS Manual Narvik Black

Hi All,

My wife had a Freelander 1 three years ago but it had to go, due to all the little niggles......

Anyway I have treated her to a new Freelander 2 which we are collecting tomorrow, I had it in Narvick black, as I like washing cars! (nothing to do with being too tight to pay for metallic paint) I originally ordered with xenon lights and privacy glass, but was dissapointed when I was informed this option was unavailable. Anyway the dealer arranged to fit "factory" film to the windows (i hope its not full of air bubbles tomorrow)

I drove the Freelander 1 back to back with the 2 and was astonished at the difference between them. Anyway im off to charge my camera for tomorrows big event. (as a surprise for my wife, I asked the dealer yesterday to fit the chrome mirror covers, another £140 ....ker-ching) Im not sure how they will stand up to salt water and mud etc Milestone

Bye for now

I have posted a couple of times before but thought I`d drop in here and tell you about my FL2.
I ordered an SE in stornaway with scuba interior in the first week in January for delivery last week in March. No discounts were forthcoming at that time but I got about £1K worth of extras included. I was transferring a personal plate onto it from another car so at the beginning of March took all the documents in for the transfer and left them with the sales guy. Last weekend I called to check that the transfer had happened and was told "We haven`t been able to do it yet - the car isn`t built!" ALARM BELLS!!!!!! It turned out, after a meeting with the dealer principle, that the car was never ordered from the factory - the dealer assumed they would pick up that spec of car up from another dealer on a transfer, and then couldn`t find one. He never answered my question "If I hadn`t chased you up, when would you have told me there wasn`t a car for me?" I canceled!
Before the meeting with the dealer principle I had been to another dealer and checked out their stock, got over £1500 off the list price (admittedly on a different colour, but I had always been undecided when I ordered as to the colour) and some extras thrown in, AND a promise to do everything possible to get it registered and delivered in 7-10 days, fingers crossed that the DVLA do the transfer quickly. The car will be ready Tuesday, awaiting a plate.
Moral - Choose your dealer carefully, and keep on top of them!
Cheers, Nicam Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!

can't answer the first 2 questions, but my new wheels were built last Tuesday (20th) and I could have collected them this Wednesday, therefore 8 days - not sure how much longer to transport out of the UK though.
