Don’t look to me for any technical info, as I’ve not a clue Laughing However there are others on here that do know a huge amount; I can’t even understand what some (most) of them are even talking about Rolling with laughter

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Barolo Black

Hi all I have just bought myself a 2008 Freelander 2 from a place in Lancashire but it's service history says it's a Scottish motor 😭 (hello rust) it needs a few bits sorting out to tidy her up so if anyone has spare parts let me know.

I'm after....
Rear driver side light assembly
Interior boot door trim
Possibly a roof lining
Front driver fog light (may have one)
Parcel shelf

Anywho hello to you all 👍👍

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Fuji White

Hello all, just joined the ranks of Freelander 2 owners with a nice Fuji White 61 plate TD4-GS. So far seems a great replacement for our old Disco TD5 Landmark, (now we've sold the heavy old twin-axle Abbey Spectrum). Certainly more economical, and hoping it's a bit (lot!) more reliable.

One nagging thought though, I've never had a DPF to worry about before. Considering that we typically do a 25 mile run a couple of times a week, and a 100 mile trip every 6 to 8 weeks, is it likely to give us any bother...?

Cheers,
Terry

aye up kittens

right - time for formal introductions, having rudely gatecrashed the forum last week in a rush to get some info before making a purchase Razz

now the proud owner of a bright red 13 plate SD4 GS which would appear to be a very fine thing indeed; it was very much like The Matrix - having to choose between blue and red - and i've gone for the option which means I'm 'about to learn a potentially unsettling or life-changing truth,' which will probably end up being "you should have chosen the blue one" Laughing

anyway - back on the LR scene after a five year hiatus spent mooning about in a 3.4 litre VW toerag, which was great other than any time i actually had to drive it anywhere and therefore pay for the fuel required, or when the timing chain broke, which finally killed it; prior to that, had a D2 TD4 for years, which was like being in an abusive relationship, with the only winners being the blokes at the local 4WD garage who lived extravagant lifestyles on the back of my repair bills...

so far, I've had to get a load-bay cover and one of those bespoke central arm rest box things (as the toerag had sthg similar and I really missed it) oh, and a set of chrome door-handle covers to match the blingy grills and rear door trim; after the weekend, four new tyres and a proper LR service to make good recent neglect - shall then be cruising serenely around the highways and byways of Sussex - keep an eye out for the Doncaster Rovers mini-kit in the back window and please do feel free to gesture obscenely if you see me out and about !

thanks to everyone who chipped in to my first thread of deranged ramblings - all comments were much appreciated...

love and hugs

Rob

Ref, Cam belt change, main dealer is not necessary,
as it's a Ford/PSA engine most reputable workshops wouid be familiar
with it, Gates are available as a kit, replace the water pump may be a
good move too. DAVE.

Evening All. Been an owner since last August, however I've been lurking in here for a while so thought I'd join the hive!

So far so good. All I've had to do is change the tailgate lock of which is a common fault by all accounts. A quick search squared me away with a 'do it yourself' guide and whilst not replaced with a genuine part, it doesn't play cat and mouse or randomly open me anymore....

Only thing I'd like to fix on my mine currently is the drivers arm rest cover as it's perished due to the previous owners elbow. Did get a cheap replacement online, but it was rubbish so keeping my eyes peeled for a replacement. It's the black with red stitching style trim and if anyone's got any advice, I'd welcome it.

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

Good morning all,
Been looking for a car to buy after having had a company car for more than 40 years! And found a brilliant late 2014 SE Tec manual in a grey metallic (I understand it to be one of the last made). 48k full service history from new. Ex JLR car and 1 private lady owner. Can’t fault it and am looking forward to doing a whole list of upgrades and preventative maintenance. Have already been introduced to Bell Engineering and will get the haldex and rear axle serviced ASAP.
Can any one recommend a company that can supply me a full kit of parts that I can use to upgrade to a factory spec rear view camera with the predictive lines on the screen etc. Also looking for a second hand roof bar kit and cross bars.
Looking forward to towin* my caravan all over Europe for th3 next few years.
