I've had a D2 Td5 for the last 10 years and sadly it's just expired with a cracked cylinder head. It's not economically repairable so I've decided to replace it, and am looking at 2010-onwards SD4 Freelander 2s. I'm totally unfamiliar with the model so would appreciate any helpful pointers - I'm sure there must be a thread here somewhere...... Ian.

Dave, probably a wise move to have bought from the Deep South - there was an FL2 for sale in Elgin recently (on the grass verge of the A96 just east of H.I.S., opposite the LR dealer), same age as mine and £2k more than I paid for mine two years ago! Prices locally are just crazy! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

...of course you may need to put that extra £2k aside to spend on fixing it up or keep it running...it is an LR after all! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Dave, no sensible manufacture promote that nasty habit of smoking these days, those 12v connection are for accessories not lighters. When did you last see an ashtray in a vehicle ? Yes I have swapped out the 12v sockets for USB power sockets. They fit in the same hole and connect to the same wiring. If possible go for the USB dual sockets that are rated at 2.1Amp each. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-24V-Car-Veh...SwI3ld2oVL an alternative is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-1A-Mini-Dual-...Sw-s5eU4M- ' |

brilliant, cheers ordered 2 but had to send them to my parents house as they don't ship to Scottish Highlands, might be because we haven't got any real roads just dirt tracks to get about 💁 |

Dave, quite so! I once tried to get Baxter’s in Fochabers to deliver a food hamper to an address about ten miles along the road in Banffshire and they wanted to charge extra for delivery to a Highland address! Loch Fyne got the order instead and I’ve not troubled Audrey with my business since! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
