United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Hello all.

Have ordered FL2 HSE Auto in Rimini Red with body styling kit, body coloured wing mirror caps and privacy glass, cannot wait for it to arrive, about another 6 weeks I am told.

I read all of the reviews and comparisons with other 4x4 / SUV's and can honestly say I am staggered by how much kit the LR2 has, how good it looks and how well it drives!! - roll on April! Very Happy

Hi everyone
Ordered my Santorini black HSE with privacy glass and DAB 10 days ago and my dealer has found me one on the production line that'll be ready in about 10 days. Got 9% off list which I was pleased with from my local dealer. Can't wait to get hold of it. Have been looking at this site for a while now - always seems to be something useful on here. Will be back posting when I've picked my new toy up no doubt. Very Happy

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hello All

Only recently found this forum although I have had a Stornoway Grey GS with winter pack since June 2007 and really like it. I prefer the more commanding driving position of the FL2 over the X-Trail I had previously and although I was happy with the X-Trail I never did get used to having the instruments in the centre. Did not consider the new X-Trail as when I started looking the new model was not out but did try various other compact 4x4's until I test drove the FL2 and that was the one I had to have.
As my X-Trail was three years old in April 2007 ordered the FL2 in February 2007 hoping for delivery in April. The part-exchange value on the X-Trail was not as high as I had expected and dealer offered a bigger discount with no part-exchange so sold car privately at end of April after being told new car was only 10 days away. Dealer then lent me a pre-registered FL2 XS with 17 miles on the clock which I then drove for 7 weeks until new car turned up, I therefore had no complaints over the length of time to get the new car.

Have purchased a armrest and a six-cd radio off eBay but have not fitted the radio yet, was very tempted by the 19" wheels that were also listed recently.

FL2 now has over 10,000 miles on clock and I still enjoy driving it.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Santorini Black

Hello all,

This appears to be a great forum. My F2 is on order and due end March / beginning April ( no fim date). Spec is GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini, Cold Climate Pack. I've opted for Tundra with Alpaca lower cabin as, with no sunroof, it makes the cabin brighter.

I'm coming back to LR. Originally had a new black F1 XEDi which never let me down between 1998 and 2004, but went for a black Xtrail Sport 2.2DCi in 2004 as the facelifted F1 didn't seem as good.

Tried the new Xtrail, but also tried the D3 auto as a benchmark (thought about used one). I then had the F2 auto on 24hr test drive and was smitten. It felt as special as the D3 but scaled down, and a bit easier on the pocket.

Just as in 1998, when the F1 was far more expensive than the Hondra CRV, it's nearest rival , so in 2008 the F2 is considerably more than an Xtrail....BUT.... I knew, both times, that I would be kicking myself if I didn't go for the car that ticked all the boxes..... which the F2 does. It's only a pity that they've stopped the solid Narvik black, which was my first choice. You can see that I'm into black for 4x4s.

Looking forward to some great driving!!!!!!!!

Hi CG,

No intention of fitting a tow bar. Living in Devon, we know all about caravan 'wagon trains'. They're the bane of our narrow lanes, as they don't pull over like tractors do.
