New FL2 XS order

Evening All !
Ordererd FL2 XS manual (Lago Grey) in early April - got to wait until mid-July for delivery ! Sad
I just have a couple of questions if I may !
I've just added the leather steering wheel option - any issues with it at all ? (does it last ?!)
And should I get the spare wheel or is the puncture repair kit ok ?
Oh, sorry, one more - is it worth changing the headlight bulbs (Philips or similar), or not much difference ?
Sorry for all the questions ! (already bought the Wood Company armrest and boot liner !)
Thank you ! Bow down Bow down

Hi There

Bought my manual gs diesel in March (10 reg) and luvin it. Sold my disco 2 couple of years ago, but once a green oval owner, nowt else seems to cut it.

I get really dissapointed when I go anywhere, as I don't want to stop when I get there.

Tows my 1500kg caravan a dream, and it may be me, but I think it has more power than my old v8, and that's saying something.

I went for the full size spare but it's up to you.

Whatever you decide, enjoy Thumbs Up

Hello Uncle Buck - So lets start....Lago grey oh yes your on to a winner with that one, leather steering wheel, well we have this on our 2 year old HSE and no issues at all (Some have had sticky issues and had them changed under warranty), get yourself a second hand spare wheel and tyre (doesn't have to be new just a bit of legal tread to get you home) - try that well known auction site. As for headlight bulbs, I would spend £20/30 quid on a set of philips x-treme vision or better still diamond vision bulbs...just my personal opinion of course, many others I'm sure will respond.

Thanks for the advice !
I saw the Special Edition Sport in the Lago grey - that was the moment I changed my colour choice from Black ...... loved it !
Will be driving up to Sheffield to pick mine up - long way to go - but worth it !

I would just order the spare wheel that way you don't have to find a wheel, a jack that won't roll round the boot ect saving you only a few quid and a lot less hassle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hello from another soon-to-be first time freelander owner. Should get my manual XS TD4e in the next couple of weeks. I work for LR (at Gaydon) but have only had Ford's on the company car scheme up until now. Will be good to finally have something that I had a (tiny) hand in developing...

Very Happy

Picked the car up yesterday after a longer than expected wait, slightly disappointed by the 15mm scratch (through the lacquer) in the O/S rear door and badly aligned boot latch (it catches on the plastic surround as you close the boot) but otherwise all good. The scratch will be remedied when I hand the car back in 6months, and I'll take a look at the boot latch myself - anyone else had issues?

Got the bluetooth working with my Nokia 5530, had to manually transfer the phonebook after some faffing, will post something about this elsewhere as it was a bit of a bizarre solution...

Looking forward to a holiday in the Brecon Beacons in a week and a bit, need to get a plan together for some moderate offroad stuff while we are there... Freelander2 SD4 HSE Lux - Firenze Red

Hi,

Just came across this board today, having spent 4 months so far driving around in my rather nice Stornoway Grey HSE. My only downer is the fuel consumption. I had hoped it might improve from 32mpg (TD4 auto) but it looks like short runs really knacker the consumption. Still, it is not bad enough to make me change the vehicle.

I was interested by some comments elsewhere about driving an FL2 at Gaydon. Think I might investigate that as it sounds fun.

Cheers to one and all. FL2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway Grey, Privacy Glass, Towbar Jan 2010

Welcome Stornyrey - excellent colour choice. Thumbs Up

I'd settle for 32 mpg in my manual so count yourself lucky!!

Enjoy the forum!
