Towing is wonderful

Just had a holiday to Cornwall with my 2010 Freelander 2 (manual) and new bailey caravan.
I have been towing for 20 years plus and this is the best set up I have ever had.
Previously had a Disco 2 and smaller caravan which was good but not as good as my new rig.
Hardly noticed lorries and coaches passing.
The only small problem I had was on the inside lane of the motorway the caravan would wobble slightly when it found the lorry ruts. Not to bad if you could see them but the ones that are just forming can't be seen and you wonder what the wobble is. Trying to drive off them to one side helps.
Otherwise 55 - 60 mph on cruise control life is good and 27mpg with a large caravan is the best I've ever had towing.

England 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Stornoway Grey

Similar experience, I moved from a Disco TD5 to a MY12 SD4 and find towing much better which was a bit of a surprise given the smaller engine and body size. Most impressive change is the quality of the gear changing of the Auto Box. SD4 Auto 2012 GS Stornoway Grey.

I agree, the sentence should also contain the word "caravan". Very Happy GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver
LONG GONE - '55 Norton Dominator 99 SS cafe racer

Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe that cant should be can't.

Let's not be picky and enjoy the virtues of the TD4.

I am looking forward to when Chicken George opens a Caravan Club 5 van CL site so all of us towing lot can go and see George and get a good deal on a chicken to roast.
.
Maybe CG could give us an off road circuit.

Kind regards from Fred.
