Mine is the same... The well worn 'daily' key sticks as shown in the video but the barely worn spare, only used once in a blue moon to keep it charged, doesn't.

Whilst I haven't applied silicone spray to the inside of the receiver I have cleaned the sticking key to within a millimetre of it's existence and sprayed that with the silicone. No difference.

When the key is in upside down we sometimes have a problem following start-up. Everything seems normal but the throttle doesn't work. It Might just be coincidence but now we never put the key in upside down the throttle problem appears to have gone away.

(MY10 too)

Ok I want to get a new key to make sure it is not the receptor mechanism and I need a spare! Please would someone let me know which is the cheapest way of achieving this? eBay then get LR to program? Are eBay fobs reliable?

You could buy a new case for around £25. If it works - great & cheaper than a new key. If it doesn't then it's just £25 lost.

eBay key fob case here

Just remember that the Fobs are not reprogrammable, once it is coded to a Freelander 2 that's it, it cannot be programmed to another one, no matter what the seller on ebay tells you.
be 150% sure if you are getting off the bay it is BRAND NEW, UNUSED.

Had the sticking problem with a well worn fob. Bought a new case on ebay for £25 and swopped in the electronics. Instant cure !.
