Service indicator

A strange problem with my Freelander -07 is that the service indicator that shows a few seconds after starting up the engine shows -301 and it have done that for a long time now. I reset it 6 month ago when I did a service. Anybody knows what the problem might be??

There are 2 service indicators, one is number of miles until next service, the other is number of days, when you reset you have to reset them both so it looks like you may have only reset one.

This link gives details on how to reset them both:

Now you have reset it it will, as you say, show nothing. From memory, it will start to show up shortly before the service is due. Full details should be in the handbook. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Tailgate switch (above the number plate) or tailgate latch (in the base of the tailgate). Do a search. Switch is easy. Latch is a b?tch. I changed the latch myself from tailgate closed. You will find it in the search.

Switch is is almost new change it for a couple of month ago. Latch also new for a couple of month ago...
Must be something else who is messing with me.
Is there any central locking unit somewhere who can be a problem with?
Anyone else have this problem?

Does your fuel filler cap lock/unlock? I believe there is a common fuse. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Yes the fuel filler cap lock/unlock as it should. Must be something else that struggling.
It is really a big problem with 2 dogs, so I really need ideas to try so I can fix it.

Some new facts.
I have 0 volts when I try to open the tailgate with rhe switch and 0 volt when I try to open it with the keyfob also. So why is their no volt??
And when I have tried to open it..... the horn sound when I try to lock the car and it won't lock....
Then I took of the minuscable from the battery for a about 10 minutes and reconnect it again.
After that I could lock the car again..... and when I try to open the tailgate it won't open and the same thing happen again... so off with the batterycable again.....
And something else.. should I hear a relay click when I try to open the tailgate? I don't hear a relay when I try to open with the switch or the keyfob. Can that be the problem?? Where can I find that relay so I can test it.
