Purely based on what I've read on the internet, try a local council testing station. They don't make a profit on "repairs" SD4 HSE Lux Orkney Grey,Full size spare tyre,Ugly kid glass. |

I could well be wrong here so I'm sure somebody can answer this...... I thought council testing places didn't do repairs. If a car fails and the old MOT ticket hasn't expired, can the vehicle still be driven? OR as the system is computerised now, once a car fails an MOT, if the car is driven away to do repairs elsewhere can you be prosecuted for driving a car without a valid MOT?? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker. Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White. |

Our council do not do any repairs and they are very keen as they cannot be seen to be doing anything wrong. |

It depends why your car failed the MOT. Assuming you've got at least a day left on your MOT, you can drive away from a failed test with impunity. It is not an offence to drive with a failed MOT but it is an offence to drive with an expired MOT. That said, if the nature of the MOT failure renders the vehicle in a dangerous condition or contravenes construction and use regs (ie a light out) then you may commit an offence by driving it on a road. HTH. |
