Perth tend to be cheaper than Aberdeen, which is fine as long as you are not trading another car in.

Panic buying! Today in Stirling the Borestone Shell had only Diesel left and it was £1.169 ppl so I filled up with 80 litres, drove home and left the Sport there and collected the 90 and drove through to Glasgow for a doctor's appointment and there were queues at all the filling stations going down through Milngavie to the Tunnel and at one of the BP stations there was a queue on the street for Diesel at £1.249ppl but just down the road there is an Esso at kessington at £1.179ppl and opposite Morrsions at Anniesland the Shell place was selling diesel at £1.159ppl - the folks filling up in Milngavie must have felt real sick when they drove a mile down the road and found diesel at 10ppl cheaper...................... and no queuing! So I took the opportunity to put 55 litres of the smelly stuff into the Defender at £1.159ppl while I was there. When I filled up at Stirling there was a woman in an old Nissan 4x4 who filled up 4 x 25litre steel jerrycans as well as her car's tank - it's stupid idiots like her who cause the shortages when infact the suppliers reckon there won't be any shortage if folks are sensible and fill up normally and don't panic buy. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

The Union has alleged that the company has taken £40million out of the pension fund to help pay for "upgrades" to the refinery ........................ I thought that after Maxwell that sort of thing couldn't be done any more, but Unite, the union reckon that is what the bosses have done. They are all sitting in London having warm beer and sarnies at ACAS now and chatting it over. In the meantime the refinery owners (BP but not BP if you get my drift!) started to close the refinery down on safety grounds last weekend which menas that the largest supplier of fuel in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England is closed for business.
