XS for the extra toys and the Sat Nav. I think it works well. Better colour of the choices. Black GS for the mileage. Personally, I'd avoid a car with a tow bar. You don't know what and how often it has towed. It could be the odd trailer to the tip or an over loaded horse box all week. If the MY10 is a face lift one, that's a tick in the plus box. Condition upon inspection of any of them in the flesh as well! 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Depends on if you think you need the toys as opposed to wanting them for novelty value which will wear off. Of course you may just prefer toy mania full stop, each to their own. I had a GS and found that it is the best all rounder in the lineup as it strikes the balance between price and toys very nicely. Heated windscreen is standard on GS and that is the one toy/gizmo that I would miss most of all on any car as it is so useful and makes de-icing and de-misting so easy.

Cloth seats don't need to be heated IMO as they are not cold like leather or part leather. Once you sit on cloth seats on a cold day they soon warm up and do so even faster with a few farts Laughing

GS 31k miles Thumbs Up

**Edit: Just remembered that heated windscreen was not standard on my 2010 GS, I opted for cold climate pack. I wonder if it became standard after facelift?** LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

MY10 GS 31K, mileage important to me, Tom Tom or Garmin sat nav sits in the cubby hole nicely, black difficult to keep clean though.

Next it would be the XS for the toys and colour then the towbar one would be last, it's an unknown what it has towed and being a manual I wouldn't chance it.

Please forgive the apparent pun which is not intended.
.
Black is the best choice for longevity of the body because it is rapidly warmed by daytime sun and thus dries out much quicker than any light coloured car so it will resist rust and corrosion. The mileage is a clear winner. If its a 2010 MY then you avoid the DPF.
.
All the best and kind regards from Fred

Another vote for the 31k GS - unless there were signs of it being unloved when I went to see it.

Bought a black 09 GS with approx 40k miles from a Carlisle LR dealer last July and have been very pleased with it, and with them. The only thing I miss from higher-spec models is front parking sensors.

Pleased to hear you've got a good outcome to this.

31k 10 GS for me too. I tend to avoid cars with tow bars, as has already been said, you just don't know what they've been pulling.

XS... I love the winter pack on my HSE plus the seats are nice.

Milage is not an issue IF it as been looked after.

Mine has 75k on the clock now and imho drives like new but I have fixed what was needed and had it Terracleaned.

BTW check the AC is OK and does not need gasing...

The XS for the extras. Winter pack and heated seats are very useful extras. 62k on a diesel isn't much. Just run in.

The highest spec that suits your needs, but the higher the spec, the better it will hold its value at trade in time.

Interesting. I would have thought that a lower mileage would be better come trade-in / resale? Certainly that seems to be the logic behind the dealer prices I've been offered, i.e lower mileage cars are more expensive than higher spec ones... Of course low miles AND high spec are even more Laughing

I would agree that a low mileage is more value than spec.

it's the first thing a dealer asks when you enquire.

rightly or wrongly a low mileage car is always sought after, and will command a higher price.

Worst case you are talking 30k difference, hardly starship mileage, but in three or four years time, the GS will have depreciated more than the XS.
