eml on

Hi all,
had a good day yesterday, son broke his ankle playing football and the eml came on whilst taking him to a & e ,
put my obd reader on it this morning and it came up with po100 MAF or VAF A circuit malfunction, turned light off , and it stayed off when i restarted car, so will monitor it, but what could be potential problems if it comes back ?

Andy

Hi there, this fault code indicates a malfunction of your MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. It is the part that plugs into your air intake, near to the air box. It looks like the pic attached. It is a common fault with lots of makes of cars that brings up the same code and the EML light to come on. On another note, hope your son is okay. Poor kid.

I was given a little tip for maf problems.
Just leave it soaking in alcohol overnight it shoiluld clean the elements. Worked for me on 2 cars I was getting faults on.
It should just be a quick swap if it does need replacing.
