Knocking from gearbox

I've had a new Freelander 2 XS for six minths now and have covered 14k miles. When new it was fantastic but know i am seriously considering getting rid. Firstly the chasis creaks when going round corners. Several trips to the garage and suspension parts replaced. Still no joy! Now the gearbox has started to knock when driving along. Noise seems to come from around the gearshift but as speed increases it travels to the back of the car. The knocking gettings faster the fatser i drive. The garage are a waste of time. The car has been back in too many times to mention. Now i have Landrover headoffice involved and still tyey say that " its a charactersistic of the car". Haven;t heard that from a dealer since the eighties!! Also a solenoid in the gearbox knocks at 10mph to allow reverse to be engaged. The noise is irretating. Again the garage says "they do that".
Does anyone else have the same problem as it is drivign me mad. I love the car and really want it fixed. If they cant i'll have to bail out and buy something else>

Sorry to hear of your troubles, which dealer? I am also in Lancashire and a little concerned that the dealer I go too, Hunters in Garstang, are not as good as they were. Taken nearly three weeks to diagnose a fault and now have to wait until 4th April before it can go in, starting to feel very second rate with them.

The dealer concernd is Hatfield's of Liverpool. Purchased the car from them as they had the best deal. My car's been with them for over three weeks now as well.
Kentdale is the local dealer to me and they have been great in trying to find the cause of the fault. Because i purchased it from Hatfiled's the car has had to go back to them just in case i start legal proceedings about the car.
Tried to buy the car from Hunters but was made to feel as if i wasn't there type of customer!!! Probably becasue i wasn't buying a Range Rover or Evoque!!!

The creak might be the A piller fault. I had mine done as the chassis was knocking/creaking mainly when slow cornering.
Land rover are aware of this fault and they issued a remedy where a screwdriver is inserted into the A piller to push apart where two panels meet, this stops the panels rubbing together. If you search for this fault you should find the ref to give to land rover.
