Missing Malaysian Airlines Aircraft

http://news.sky.com/story/1223813/missing-...off-course

So what do you guys reckon happened then? Terrorist bomb? Mechanical failure?

No mayday calls were sounded and unlike the Air France flight that disappeared off radar en route to France from Brazil a few years ago, no debris at all as yet.

No idea I just hope for the poor sods on the plane it was instant and they didn't even get a second to think about it. No point in speculating because until they recover the event recorders there will not be a real idea. In the next few days every loony tunes extremist group will claim it was them, and every conspiracy theory will be aired. Me I'll just sit on the next 6 flights I've got booked and hope lightening doesn't strike twice so as to speak. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

planes go missing all the time its frequently hushed up to prevent panic, the most 'disappearances' route is apparently Heathrow to LA, Lord Lucan was last seen boarding a flight on that route, as was Shergar ,pinkies sense of humour and AD56876868763's joke book At work

Heathrow to LA Laughing I see what you did there CG

An aviation expert was on the news last night saying that the flight recorders only emit a signal for 30 days, then the battery dies. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Forget this thread, it's a Freelander forum, if you want theories and the views of the tin foil hat brigade, read this http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/535538-...-lost.html

I have to say the forum Above Too Secret is also a good read for the same things.

Very odd though... I'm leaning to hijacking gone wrong my self... ie below radar and slammed in to a hill how ever there are thoughts especially with phones ringing out ( confirmed officially) that it is safe on the ground with more to follow.

So many scenarios that until there is some thing to go on it is pure speculation....

I dropped my mobile into the dock at Southampton off the top of a 150ft crane, the phone still rang out if dialled for 4 days, and thats in salt water too, I wasnt down there with it though, so just because it rings out doesnt mean the person still has in on them or indeed they are still ok.

I think the fact it came to light that 2 passports, stolen years ago in Thailand, were use on 2 tickets, bought at the same time,

Says someone was up too no good

Lost off radar, flight path change, no wreckage, no mayday is strange, does add up to something happening, guess it will come to light soon enough

Aircraft are extremely difficult to hijack post 9/11, what with the secure cockpit door, instructions to aircrew not to respond to hijack demands etc.

As "Jason Bourne" as it sounds I can't help thinking back to the Korean Airlines flight 007 in 1983....

The fact that with all the search parties/reconnaissance/real time satellite imagery and still "nothing has been found" just seems increasingly unlikely to me.....

But - what do I know?
