Wales 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

As far as I'm aware there isn't a solid flywheel conversion.
There is a danger that the crankshaft could fail Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

DMF Replacement

Finally bit the bullet and have had the job done - replaced the DMF (with another DMF), clutch and slave cylinder plus service and MOT. This was all done by Elams from whom I bought the FL2 originally. Fortunately they took pity on me and made a contribution to the bill but I still had to pay out just short of £1,000 Big Cry
However runs really well now and the gear change is a lot smoother.
There has been a problem however, occasionally I get and error message coming up which says " Transmission Fault. Traction Reduced" and the light on the terrain selector goes off. I have noticed no difference driving it on the road at all. The good news is that the message seems to have gone for the time being all by itself so its fingers crossed it will stay gone! 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE in Sumatra Black. 38,000 miles. Have put on 19" Evoque Style 4 Sparkle Silver wheels with 35 x 55 Pirelli Scorpion Verde tyres. Added fog light surrounds, stainless tailgate protectors and high level spoiler. New leather seat covers and chrome door handle covers; Dipped trim with dark wood effect; Re trimmed steering wheel to match seats (black with red stitching); Updated rear light units: Black painted front grill and rear door handle/light unit.

Not to generous with their contribution imho, but you contributed £1000, there are a few posts on here where a clutch has been replaced for £700 and £1100 for Clutch and DMF. So looks like they have given you a service.

Sorry to jump on this interesting topic, but anyone know if replacing the DMF would be considered a warranty job? 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

well real eye opener with LR prices.clutch kit £240 genuine lr,£140 luk oem kit.dmf £325 genuine lr,£180 luk oem kit.
the luk oem kit is genuine lr units in a different box.
so 3 main agents quoted £1200-£1300 for clutch and £390 for dmf xtra.so roughly £1000 labour on the clutch alone.
then 3 lr indies quoted £330-£420 labour plus parts
another thing is lr genuine parts are 12 months warranty the luk kit is 24 months.

still only slips in 6th gear under heavy pedal so since I will be swopping the dmf as a precaution also I will leave until it gets worse then change.
