What May A Dealer Offer ?

Might be popping into a main dealer next week to see what may be offered on a 2014 FL2 , mine is a Dec 2010 60
plate MY11 GS Manual , 27500 mls Zermatt Silver serviced and mot to Dec 14
No extras other than the Tom Tom 60 .

Whats the bad news ? , would £16000 be too much for a private sale ?

Julian

Best way to work out what a dealer will offer is find a similar car to yours on a main dealer forecourt then deduct £3k - you won't be far off then

I'm no expert but I did p/x the same car with the same miles on a 59 plate in September 2012. The first offer was £11800. I ended up with £12800 and only took that because I got 15% off my present car.

Before Xmas I was looking at a Range Rover and was given a p/x value for mine. Last week I again looked at a different Range Rover and the p/x value was down £1500. I was told the mild winter meant low demand and winter is now over. These were all main dealers.

Good luck A Land Rover owner since 1988

Now is probably a good time to buy with the new registrations out - they may pre-register some to get their figures up.

I PX'd for one that was six months old with 3.5k on the clock so it had been used for demos. It was on the forecourt at list £34,705 (it had a few extras) and on the web at £31,795. Their first offer was to take £1k off this and offer £7k for my 07 GS. We ended up with another £2k off, £7.5k for my GS, window tints included and tow bar and electrics at half price and the usual dealer cry of "We're not making any money on this".

It is the price to exchange you need to consider. I could probably have got around £9k selling privately but I would have had to have the dents taken out and get it serviced Smile . The last one was a bit of an unknown as to what it may have turned up. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

I think £16K might be stretching it for a private sale but its not far off, if you can get it sold quickly. Would expect a dealer to offer a lot less at this time of year.

Not sure exactly when Glass/Parker's etc. make the change but around this time last year when I was looking and there was a step change in the used prices. Freelander dropped £1.5K and BMW coupe went up £500.

Given it a wash this aft so its looking good , just the inside to vac etc in the morning and going to pop into dealers and see what they say , WBAC offer just over £15000 before seeing Whistle , had a look at a few forecourt prices and they seem to be around the 17K mark .

I know of a few mates who have used WBAC - turn their first offer down then stand by for a call every week upping the offer around £300 - £400 every time.

All depends how long you can hold your nerve and if you need a quick sale or not. MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

Popped into my lokal dealer to look at the new evoke. The trade in price on my Freelander was £2000 short of clearing my finance so I walked away.
The same dealer now has the exact same car (year and model) but with 10000 more miles on the clock but for £3000 more than they offered me ... Confused SD4 Sports LE Black ...

Went to Guy Salmon Stockport at 11am this morning , waited till they opened up to park car and receptionist said no sales staff available yet .
Sat down in pleasant surroundings with a coffee , thought will give it till 11.30am and then walk out as had to be home at 12.45 . At 11.25 sales staff available so sat down and told him what I wanted 2014 FL2 GS TD4 with the extras that they were giving with the car ( Cold Comfort Pack/Metallic Paint/18" Alloys/Full size Spare/design pack ) . 2 were available from stock Loire Blue choice of Almond/Ebony Leather
Appraised my car and was told I would be rung after 2pm with price for my car etc .
Never heard a thing .

That may well be what they are asking but almost certainly not what they will settle for, they would expect to have to discount on the asking price. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

I was initially offered £9500 for my 56 plate HSE back in November. But ended up selling it privately for £13500. It sold in 3 days and the guy didn't even bother trying to push me down too far. I came down by £250.

But then again, my old HSE was a bit of a one off which made it stand out from the many other HSE's for sale at the time. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
