Best way to work out what a dealer will offer is find a similar car to yours on a main dealer forecourt then deduct £3k - you won't be far off then |

I'm no expert but I did p/x the same car with the same miles on a 59 plate in September 2012. The first offer was £11800. I ended up with £12800 and only took that because I got 15% off my present car.

Now is probably a good time to buy with the new registrations out - they may pre-register some to get their figures up.

I think £16K might be stretching it for a private sale but its not far off, if you can get it sold quickly. Would expect a dealer to offer a lot less at this time of year.

Given it a wash this aft so its looking good , just the inside to vac etc in the morning and going to pop into dealers and see what they say , WBAC offer just over £15000 before seeing , had a look at a few forecourt prices and they seem to be around the 17K mark . |

I know of a few mates who have used WBAC - turn their first offer down then stand by for a call every week upping the offer around £300 - £400 every time.

Popped into my lokal dealer to look at the new evoke. The trade in price on my Freelander was £2000 short of clearing my finance so I walked away.

That may well be what they are asking but almost certainly not what they will settle for, they would expect to have to discount on the asking price. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver LONG GONE - '55 Norton Dominator 99 SS cafe racer |

I was initially offered £9500 for my 56 plate HSE back in November. But ended up selling it privately for £13500. It sold in 3 days and the guy didn't even bother trying to push me down too far. I came down by £250.
