I went for the genuine LR Fixed Height Tow Bar LR007479 with twin electrics on either side! A fixed tow bar is always the best option IMO as it protects rear of the car in traffic from a shunt

Not necessarily so, with a Towbar a rear end shunt will transfer the energy to the chassis rails instead of across the whole of the rear.
Also the fitting of a spacer between the Towbar and the ball they have to be Type Approved to each design of Towbar, if it hasn't been submitted for testing, it should tell you with the documentation of the Towbar if it's been type approved.

Not long now till the salt hits the road Rolling Eyes today I removed foam lanced and waxed the 22's before placing them in storage. Running the stock 19s now throughout the winter period! We went out to the pictures this evening and I've got to say the freely handles a lot better with the 22's roll on summer 2015 Wink

Comparison against brand new spare. Only removed to get jack and wheel brace out Laughing

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White

Back in May 2014 I purchased two brand new FL2 spoilers to join and make one big spoiler as I was wanting to have the same profile of spoiler that mine arrived with from factory but have it sweeping out a tad more from the car. Progress has been slow on this but here is some snaps I took from the body shop today! It should look identical as the current Land Rover item but just larger!

Personally I felt that the spoiler was too small when I got the car as the bodykit is a fair size and its looks tiny on a car with a bodykit fitted IMO. With the 22's on her and raised roof rails and cross bars the car looks oversized in a way and I feel the spoiler will not be too big for the car and will fit in with my vehicle!

Guess time will tell hopefully not too far away Whistle

With the new spoiler nearly completed I thought it would be a safe bet now to remove the factory fitted spoiler!

Well today was a success and a job well done bearing in mind it was snowing! Took approx 1 hour to remove spoiler and and another hour to cleaning up the dynamic.

First step was to removed the torx head screws on either side on the spoiler bracket. Next I pulled the interior cover the one that is used to access the brake light. However it would have been impossible to heat up the spoiler tape from the inside!

Using the steps I could see the sticky tape along the top and started to heat it up and then gently push up and down on the spoiler. Once it had worked loose I could now see the stick tape below the spoiler and heated up the bottom!

We then gently started to slice through the tape with fishing line as per Taz's recommendation

With the spoiler removed the next step was to clean up the roof!

The hair dryer helped to removed the excess and sticky stuff removed was left on for Appox 10mins and then rubbed very hard to gradually the tape did dissolve and break away.

The end result de-spoilered it actually looks ok with the bodykit when looking from behind the car. However from side on it looks odd with no spoiler!

I just hope the new spoiler will fit fine and not foul with the removal on the rear brake light and more importantly look nice on the her ...

I wonder what these hand written digits refer to "2496" as my spoiler was a factory fit Whistle

As previously mentioned my bio is not in order due to difficulties uploading photos in the past! However it will let you see the mods that have been done to her....

I fitted the bonnet louvres back in summer which came finished in gloss black and were given to me as a gift a while back before taking delivery of the car. I was a bit unsure of how they would look once fitted but I think they look really good and seem to look like a factory fit if the option was available. They seem to go well with the additional gloss black on her and help to empathise the aggressive look. Thumbs Up

I marked with a felt tip pen the outline where I wanted them to be placed and then stuck a gloss black roll of film down so that the Fuji White paint work would not be seen through the grill! I took a lot of measuring to get them identical and then I heated them up along with the bonnet!

I changed the fog light bulbs and headlight bulbs in June. At the same time I also changed the indicator as it had the Evil or Very Mad egg fried look in the lights. I opted for the Osram diadem which is a nice blue but flashes amber. I have got these fitted in the Freelander 1 also.

Just realised now that there is not mention of this in my bio Big Cry as long as well as many other mods as it the time I was having issues uploading images to my album Big Cry

Visible difference in bulbs is noticeable even in daytime

Stainless Steel Cobra side tubes were fitted around same time. They were purchased from Germany and were made to order, if IIRC they took 5 weeks to arrive. They still look like new are are a nice and chunky over 3" thick diameter. From a distance they look integrated and part of the bodykit.

Liking the car, looks ace. My only issue is your roof bars look like they are on back to front, bet they whistle a bit. (Or do you just want to be different). Good posts. 👍
