I did! Embarassed When I ordered my first FL2 I had never even sat in one let alone drive one Embarassed Embarassed

Good man Thumbs Up

Did you have a Land Rover before your placed the order?

Nope came from a BMW 3 series, my boss had a Range Rover Sport which I was regulary a passenger in and thought when it was time to change to get a LR - FL2 was the only thing in my budget but to be honest I prefered the shape of the FL2 over the RRS Thumbs Up

Boss now has the new RRS and am not impressed - the rear end is ugly and already several people have said to him 'why have you had an Evoque?' which has gone down like a lead balloon. Rolling with laughter Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

I agree with you the back end looks like a scaled up evoque shame really as the old boxy shape was nice Thumbs Up Also not a fan of the silver/grey finish centre piece in the bumper. My 2004 Freelander 1 has the same centre section finish Shocked MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I have to agree with you on the excess of plastic, may end up getting some of it sprayed body colour. I didn't like the rear at first, but it's grown on me since launch. Can't wait for it to arrive now, I'm counting down the days! Shocked Big Cry

Have a look at the recently published Autocar photos of it (albeit a photoshop) they're not too far off what it's probably going to look like. Autocar one is quite Evoque like at the front end but more Freelander ish at the back.

Going on what LR have done in the past, I will go for 2016 for the next Freelander, or whatever it will be called, LR in the past always go at least ten years life span out of a chassis. So unless they break the habit the replacement will be 2016.
The only reel exception to this was the P38, but that you can understand why it didn't go for ten. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

From what we saw in Halewood, the 'longer' floorpans and the Evoque body with what looked like deeper rear windows, I would think what has been seen could potentially be a 7 seat Evoque?
There was also the paper bag being driven around, believed to be the new Jag SUV, the day we were at Halewood there was a delegation of top brass visiting, possibly to view the new models.
All the 'prototype' labels we saw related to the Jag, nothing at all about the Freelander, although the LR staff did say they had seen it and I have also spoken to someone else more closely linked with Gaydon who also claims there are cars built up.
Certainly a well kept secret and no real indication as to time scale, would LR launch before the new engine is ready?

Dealer told me that 2015 is the year it changes, though nothing has been published yet. I think Autocar showed a pic of what looked like an evoque in camo gear - said to be the new FL3 (using evoque chassis). Who cares - FL2 coming my way ASAP Laughing MY14 SD4 HSE LUX, Colour - Santorini Black, Spare Alloy, Privacy Glass, Front & rear SS tread plates, Chrome arse, Official LR coat hanger!! <-- Going soon...
