Must admit I've never really thought about it, and assumed they were built entirely by Jaguar Land Rover. I'm sure someone more informed will be along shortly |

MY 10 was a 2.2 litre 160 bhp engine. The SD4 (190)/TD4 (150) engines didn't appear until MY 11. The Freelander 2 uses a DW12 (Ford Duratorq) engine which was co-produced by Ford and Peugeot Citroen, the version in the Freelander is currently built for LR by Ford. |

It will and it will have been built for you by Ford, I think at Dagenham.

The LR version of the engine is different from the Ford Peugeot Citreon.

The origins as stated above is the DW12 for which google brings up some definitive history.

The engine block and the cylinder head are the only (main)things that are the same in all DW12 engines.
