New car ordered ! I don't believe it !!

Well ordered my new car & should be ready for when we return from holiday ! The visit to the jaguar Dealer didn't go well & didn't even get a road test ! I think the sales guy thought I was another dreamer ! may be its wearing jeans & trainers ! but I'm comfortable in them !
I really liked an XF2.2 premium in white but the misses didn't like the saloon for it felt closed in, in the back & the compromise would of been an estate ! nahhhhhhh not in a Jag !
So wait for it I went back to landrover ! bent over backwards to help every way possible ! spent hours looking at 1 year old ones & finally ordered Brand New thanks to a patient salesman who spent ages looking at every combination of deals.
So if they are going to be attentive, & my new one , thinking positive will be reliable ;like most of you report then I look forward to an improved relationship !
Blimey did I really just say that ! I have bought another Landrover Thumbs Up

& hopefully one that works this time. positive thinking Thumbs Up

So we will see what its like going from an auto to a manual ! big difference in road tax
Will be interesting to see how the manual one tows, I am very careful with clutches & never worn one out yet or a dual mass even with towing Very Happy

Are you sure you want to change from an Auto? Laughing Having it all colour coded and a spoiler makes the car look even better IMHO. Thumbs Up

Good on you Oldgeezer, it's in the blood now Thumbs Up
Can't help thinking that the Detachable Towbar will be a mistake, especially with the amount of towing you do? p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Gratz mate Smile

I am not sure if you ever read the reply to your question to me ( http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic15937.html ) I couldnt reply to PM's at the time.

As for the jeans and trainers, I know were your coming from I liked nothing more than walking in my Jag Dealership looking like a tramp in my case lol and they initially give you the errr should you be here Sir look, Realise you own an XF in my case ( not lease or rent or a company car ) Own it and there all over you like a rash it was funny watching there attitudes change. HSE TD4 Stornoway Grey ★ Rear Spoiler ★ Black Leather Interior ★ Panoramic Roof ★ Navigation with Bluetooth ★ 19 " Alloys ★ Alpine Stereo 10 Disc Auto changer and Ipod connection and lots of other nice toys ★

at my local LR dealership, the salesmen ignore the booted and suited customers as they normally fail credit checks, they prefer the scruffy farmer types.

the saleman also told me that the majority of failed credit customers came in looking for a RRS. At the time he dreaded potential RRS buyers as they frequently wasted his time and effort. At work

Your experience at the Jaguar dealership is all too common. It's the reason 2 of our cars are from dealerships 20 miles away.
If only they took the time to look at what car the customer drove there in, it's sometimes a rather good clue that these people are actually able to afford a new car.

Reminds me of the Steptoe episode where they were testing beds and Harold had his wellies on with horse muck on them. Laughing
